Yankees tab Jordan Montgomery as fifth starter
According to an official statement made by manager Joe Girardi on Monday afternoon, the New York Yankees have finally found their fifth starting pitcher for the 2017 regular season. While going with a four-man starting rotation through their first seven games of the year, the Yankees will now turn to left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery on Wednesday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Montgomery will be joining a group already comprised of Masahiro Tanaka, C.C. Sabathia, Michael Pineda and Luis Severino.
